I am pleased to announce that I have two Meet the Author / Book Signing events with two local women owned businesses who happen to play important roles in my book, SOULS TOUCHING.
The Hope Chest Emporium located in Atascadero and especially the owner, Karen McNamara, have been friends since Norin and I moved to the Central Coast. It was her late husband’s dream to restore the historic Atascadero Printery to its original grandeur and create a performing arts center, serving local youth, artists, and the community. She bravely took on that task after he passed and has garnered the support of many local businesses and the community as a whole to fulfill his dream, making it her own. Both the Printery and Hope Chest Emporium are featured in the book.
The Coalesce Book Store in Morro Bay has been a spiritual staple in my life since moving to the Central Coast. When you enter the store, you can’t help but feel the magic of the many souls contained in their new and used books, and arts and crafts. Their beautiful garden in the back along with the serene Garden Chapel host weddings and other special events. When I was in the other day, I mentioned to one of the owners that a book flew off the shelf and struck a member of my writing group when we were in the store a number of years ago. She said, “It happens all the time.”
I went on to tell her when we brought the book that contained original art up to the front to purchase it, they didn’t even know they had it. We had to imagine that book was placed there specifically for us. It’s a treasure to this day. The Coalesce Book Store is featured in my story when Tosha Silver’s book, Outrageous Openness, hits Latte in the back of her leg while she’s walking around the store. Also, Latte is a fan of the Garden and Chapel, just like me!
Please bring your book, or purchase one at the events, and I’ll sign it specially for you!
